Cherry Cinnamon Roll Casserole Recipe

If you’re looking for an easy breakfast treat, or perhaps a sweet treat or even dessert, you have got to make my 3 ingredient cherry cinnamon roll casserole!

Canned, ready-to-use, refrigerated Grands cinnamon rolls are the base of this cinnamon roll casserole. With pockets of juicy, sweet cherries and topped with crunchy pecans and a sweet glaze – which is included in the cinnamon roll cans.

All you need are some ready to use ingredients and a few minutes of prep time 🍒

Only 3 Ingredients Needed

  1. Refrigerated Grands Cinnamon Rolls : These are the tubes of ready-to-bake cinnamon rolls that come with a container of icing. I use the Pillsbury brand because I think they taste the best, but feel free to use a store brand.
  2. Cherry Pie Filling
  3. Chopped Pecans : This is optional in case of any nut allergies, but if there are none, I highly recommend using the chopped pecans! They add a nice crunchy texture and the salt helps balance out the sweet cinnamon rolls and cherry pie filling.

How To Make Cinnamon Roll Casserole With Cherries and Refrigerated Cinnamon Rolls (Printable Recipe Card)

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Prepare a 9×13 baking dish by spraying it with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.

Open both the cinnamon roll cans and set both the icing container aside. Use kitchen scissors to cut each cinnamon roll into 6 pieces (cut in half, and then cut each half into 3 smaller pieces).

Spread the cut-up cinnamon roll pieces evenly into the bottom of your prepared baking dish.

Spoon the cherry pie filling over the cinnamon rolls, dropping dollops evenly across the top of the rolls so you get cherry in every bite.

Sprinkle the pecans (optional) evenly over top.

Bake for 25-35 minutes, or until the cinnamon rolls are fully cooked through and golden brown.

Let the cinnamon roll casserole cool for a few minutes, and then drizzle the icing (set aside from earlier) over the top using a piping bag, a fork, spoon, or a Ziploc bag with the corner cut.

Serve warm and enjoy!

How To Store Leftovers

If you have leftovers, just cover the baking dish tightly with foil or transfer leftovers to an airtight container. Keep in the fridge for up to 3 days.

To reheat, warm individual portions in the microwave for about 30 seconds or until warmed through.

Tips For Success

  • This yummy dish is best served warm, but still tastes great at warm temperature. For best results when serving, serve warm, immediately from the oven after adding the icing.
  • Chopped pecans add a nice crunch and texture to the dish, but you can leave them out if you’re someone with nut allergies. You can also substitute your favorite nut instead; almonds or walnuts are other great choices.
  • If the icing feels too thick or clumpy, microwave the icing container for 5-10 seconds to loosen it up, and make it more easily pourable (but not too runny).
  • Lightly dust some powdered sugar on top for a yummy finishing touch.
