Are you looking for a candy corn treat for Halloween? These Candy Corn Rice Krispie Treats are the best snack to make with layers of orange, yellow, and white just like the classic candy corn candy. It's a no bake halloween treat that kids of all ages love!

Ingredients

Yellow Layer

  • 2⅓ cups mini marshmallows
  • 2 tablespoons salted butter
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • yellow gel food coloring
  • 2 cups Rice Krispies cereal

Orange Layer

  • 1 cup mini marshmallows (heaping 1 cup)
  • 1 tablespoon salted butter
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • orange gel food coloring
  • 1 cup Rice Krispies cereal

White Layer

  • 3/4 cup mini marshmallows
  • 2 teaspoons salted butter
  • 2/3 cup Rice Krispies cereal

Instructions

  • Generously spray a 9-inch round cake pan with nonstick cooking spray, spread with softened butter, or shortening. Set aside.
  • Make The Yellow Layer : Add the marshmallows and butter into a large microwave-safe bowl and microwave for 45 seconds. Stir the mixture well and microwave another 15-20 seconds. Stir until the mixture is smooth and well incorporated.
Stir in the vanilla and yellow food coloring and mix until combined.
Add the cereal and mix until everything is coated in the marshmallow mixture.
Dump the cereal into the prepared pan and shape it into a 2-inch ring around the outer edge of the pan.
2⅓ cups mini marshmallows, 2 tablespoons salted butter, ½ teaspoon vanilla extract, yellow gel food coloring, 2 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • Make The Orange Layer : Microwave the marshmallows and butter in the microwave for 30 seconds, stir, and then heat for another 15-20 seconds. Add the vanilla and food coloring and mix. Stir in the cereal until everything is well coated.
Create middle layer beside the yellow ring inside the cake pan. Make sure to leave the middle open for the white layer.
1 cup mini marshmallows, 1 tablespoon salted butter, ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract, orange gel food coloring, 1 cup Rice Krispies cereal
  • Make The White Layer : Microwave the marshmallows and butter for 30 seconds, stir well, and then heat again for 15-20 seconds. Stir in the cereal until well coated. Fill the hole in the middle of the cake pan with the white Rice Krispies mix.
3/4 cup mini marshmallows, 2 teaspoons salted butter, 2/3 cup Rice Krispies cereal
  • Allow the candy corn treats to set for 30 minutes at room temperature before removing them from the pan and cutting into 8 slices - cut it like you would a pie so you end with the triangle shaped candy corn pieces of treat.

Notes

There is no vanilla extract in the white layer because we want to keep it as white in color as possible. Vanilla extract will affect that.
Marshmallows : For the best, softest, and gooiest Krispy treats it's important to use a fresh, unopened bag of mini marshmallows. One 10 ounce bag will be plenty for this recipe.
Rice Krispies Candy Corn Pops : After cutting into slices insert a popsicle into the bottom of the candy corn for a rice krispies pop treat.
Spray Hands With Cooking Spray : I recommend lightly spraying your clean hands and the mixing spoon (used to stir the Rice Krispies mixtures) with nonstick cooking spray. This will help make mixing the treats easier and will stop them from sticking to your hands or the pan. You can also use the buttered side of the butter wrapper to spread the Rice Krispies into the pan with.
Use Gel Food Colors : Gel food colors are more concentrated than their liquid counterparts which results in a more vibrant color that needs less product.
Butter : If using unsalted butter you may want to add a very small pinch of salt in with each layer. Add it along with the vanilla extract.
