Simple Ingredients Needed To Make Creamy Pumpkin Fluff Dip

  1. Cool Whip – Use thawed Cool Whip for this easy 5-minute pumpkin fluff dip. You can use creamy, regular, lite, or fat-free Cool Whip. Or try making homemade whipped cream instead.
  2. Pure Pumpkin – Make sure you use a can of pumpkin puree (100% pumpkin) and not the pumpkin pie filling in a can. They look similar but they’re very different and not interchangeable in recipes.
  3. Instant Vanilla Pudding Mix – Use instant pudding and not cook n’ serve pudding. The cook n’ serve pudding mixes need heat in order to thicken so it will not work in this no bake recipe.
  4. Pumpkin Pie Spice – Use your own pumpkin pie spice (a homemade mix) or use a store-bought mix of it.

Serve right away alongside your favorite dippers OR for best results, cover the dip with a lid or plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour (or up to overnight) before serving.

Can I Make It Ahead of Time?

Yes! This fluff dip actually tastes much better after it has had some fridge time. The flavors have time to marinate and blend, and I am positive the dip seems to get lighter and fluffier as it refrigerates. The dip can be made up to 4 days ahead of time, although for best results, I recommend making no longer than the night before and refrigerating it for 12-18 hours before serving it.

How To Store Pumpkin Fluff Dip

Store leftovers inside an airtight container, inside the fridge, for up to 4-5 days. Give the dip a really good stir before eating it from the fridge to blend everything together again. The pumpkin dip can be served at room temperature (meaning it can sit out for a couple hours during a party) or serve it chilled from the fridge.

Can I Use Homemade Whipped Cream Topping Instead of Cool Whip?

Replace the Cool Whip with homemade whipped cream by beating 1 cup heavy whipping cream + 1/4 cup powdered sugar until stiff peaks form. Start at low speed and increase the speed as needed and as it thickens.

I don’t recommend using the spray whipped topping (from the can) because it’s too watery and won’t provide enough thickness and structure for the dip.

Easy Substitutions & Variation Ideas

  • Add Cream Cheese : To make this more like a pumpkin cheesecake dip try adding an 8 ounce bar of cream cheese – regular fat, reduced-fat, or fat free cream cheese into the pumpkin fluff ingredients. I recommend beating the ream cheese with an electric hand mixer, until it’s smooth and no lumps remain, then proceed with the recipe as directed in the recipe card below.
  • Sugar-Free Ingredients : Use sugar-free vanilla instant pudding mix and sugar-free Cool Whip to make this recipe weight watchers or diet friendly.
  • Vanilla Extract : Add 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract to boost that vanilla flavor.
  • Add Mini Chocolate Chips : Make this a chocolate chip pumpkin dip by adding a handful of mini chocolate chips into the fluff dip. I recommend adding the chocolate chips right before serving the dip, so after the fridge time.

Favorite Dippers For Pumpkin Pie Fluff Dip

The best way to serve pumpkin fluff dip is with an assortment of all different sorts of dippers! I love to put the fluff inside a serving bowl and then set it inside a big platter – I then lay all the dippers out around the bowl of dip and everyone can grab what they want.

  • Cinnamon Graham Crackers or Honey Graham Crackers

  • Vanilla Cookies (Nilla Wafers or Mini Nilla Wafers)
