Pepperoni Pizza Fries (Sheet Pan Recipe)

I am pretty sure pizza is on everyone’s list of favorite foods! What’s not to love about it – melted gooey cheese, rich tomato sauce, Italian seasonings, and of course the bread! This recipe takes all the classic pizza flavors and uses frozen French fries instead of a traditional pizza crust.

Sheet pan pizza fries make for the perfect after school snack, game day snack, or as a fun and yummy dinner on those busy weeknights where you need something quick and simple to make with hardly any prep work.

Ingredients Needed To Make Pizza Fries Recipe

  1. Frozen French Fries : Use your favorite frozen fries in this recipe; waffle fries, crinkle fries, fast food cut fries, steak fries, shoestring fries, any type of fries will work just fine.
  2. Pizza Sauce : For easy prep use store-bought pizza sauce or if you prefer you can always make Homemade Pizza Sauce
  3. Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  4. Parmesan Cheese
  5. Pepperoni Slices : Turkey pepperoni or mini pepperonis are great substitutes if wanted.
  6. Italian Seasoning

How To Make Delicious Pizza Fries (Printable Recipe Card)

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Line a baking sheet (rimmed cookie sheet – 12″x17″) by lining with parchment paper. You can also line the pan with aluminum foil and spray it lightly with cooking spray. I do recommend lining the pan with something for the results.

Place the frozen fries onto the prepared baking sheet and spread them out into an even layer. Follow the package directions to bake them until golden brown and crispy (about 30 minutes of baking). Remove the fries from the oven.

Next, spoon 2 cups of the pizza sauce over the fries, making sure to distribute it evenly.

Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese and parmesan cheese over top the pizza sauce. Place the pepperoni slices over top the cheese, and then sprinkle the Italian seasoning over top.

Place the baking sheet back into the preheated oven and bake for 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges of the fries are crispy.

Serve the pizza fries warm with additional pizza sauce for dipping (or ranch dressing!) for dipping.

How To Serve Pizza Fries

Oven baked pizza fries make for the perfect kid-friendly dinner idea or a unique party appetizer. I normally make these on those ‘lazy nights’ where I want my kids to eat something and when I want something that’s quick to prep. They’re always devoured fast and they go really well with a green salad on the side or some fresh cut fruit.

My kids LOVE dipping the pizza fries in this Homemade Ranch Dressing – it’s really yummy! You could also serve some additional pizza sauce on the side for dipping.

Can I Use Different Toppings For Pizza Fries?

Yes, you can! This recipe is so easily customizable to whatever your favorite pizza toppings are. I would be careful to not add too many toppings or else it could be too much for the fries. And, depending on which toppings you use, you may need to add a few additional minutes on the cook time in order to heat it thoroughly.

  • Chopped Bell Peppers
  • Ground & Cooked Italian Sausage
  •  Black Olives
  • Canadian Bacon
  • Chopped Bacon Bits
  • Different Types of Shredded Cheese – Use a pizza blend cheese, provolone cheese, fresh mozzarella, etc.
  • Marinara Sauce – If you prefer pasta sauce/marinara sauce then go ahead and use your favorite kind in this recipe. You could even use an Italian sausage pasta sauce or a chunky veggie one for additional taste and texture.

Pizza Fries Recipe Tips

  • Additional Seasonings : Instead of Italian seasoning you can use any other dried seasoning you prefer; some great options are garlic powder, onion powder, parsley, basil, oregano, red pepper chili flakes, or cayenne red pepper for some heat. I think using Italian seasoning is the best because it has several different Italian seasonings in it which gives the fries lots of flavor.
  • Air Fryer Cooking : If you prefer cooking frozen fries in the air fryer then follow the package instructions to do that. Once done, move the fries to a large baking sheet to prepare the pizza fries and to cook them in the oven.
  • Add Garlic Butter : If you really want to take this recipe up a level, brush some melted garlic butter over top the cooked fries before adding the pizza sauce and cheese. Garlic butter is always a tasty additional to pizza and fries!
  • Shred Your Own Cheese : For the best creamy and smooth melt – always shred your own cheese from a block of cheese using a box cheese grater. It makes a huge difference and tastes much better. It’s extra work but totally worth it!
  • Parmesan Cheese : I prefer using the cheaper grated parmesan cheese (grated into crumbs) in this recipe. The freshly shredded parmesan cheese tends to burn in the oven.
